Javascript WebPage Doesn't Work on Laptop, Works on Other Machine....
10/02/2019 12:08
Note: I did post this at comp.lang.javascript. I posted it both using Googleand Outlook Expresss--last night. As of today, neither had shown up on thenewsgroup, I wonder if something's wrong with it. That's why I'm postinghere. Going ahead:

I designed this webpage:

http://www.dbases.net/photography_pages/new_style_frames_index.html
It has horizontal hover/pop-down menus at the bottom of the gray-area; itworks fine on the offending machine run off the hard drive, but NOT off theInternet. However, it runs fine via the Internet on my other 2 machines athome. One of those is the one I designed it on & thus of course it has theHTML and JS files on its hard drive. The other machine has no such files onits hard drive, yet runs fine. Again with both I'm referring to running itoff the Internet, not locally off the hard drive; the only local runningdone is on the offending machine, where it runs fine if you do it that way(but doesn't run fine over the Internet).

With the one it flunks on, I get Done, but with Errors on Page on thebottom-left in IE6. The other machines which it runs fine on also is IE6. Ithas security on medium.

Under security, Java is enabled on the machine, yet it won't run off theInternet (but WILL run fine locally).

Why would it otherwise run fine on those two machines but not the other?

Invalid reasoning that has led you furher astray, I'm afraid.

Whoah-up! You decribed the page as 'Java'to the JS group, so I checked.. it is *Javascript*,and ..Larry, JS!=Java, they are different languages.

You need to wait a little for some responses to come in from the JS group, or at least follow it up there.
