Hello, I want to use this alias grep -i stealth messages > text as soon as i amlogging in! however, i donĀ“t really know where i have to put it, so that i can us thecommand as soon as i am logged in! i hope that someone can tell me the how to do it right?! thx, bernd

09/01/2019 9:30 - If it is an alias that you use in a terminal, then it should go into~/.bashrc Put somewhere (Best is at the bottom, so you can easily find it back) # Own settingsalias greptext=grep -i stealth messages > text I would then however specify the text, likealias greptext=grep -i stealth messages > ~/text.txt When you do 'greptext' it will do 'grep -i stealth messages >~/text.txt' If it is something else you want, please explain more in detail.
