Hello, Is it possible to determine the state (Ready/Terminated) of a thread from within the same process? I want to be able to determine if the thread has terminated or not, without actually joining it (which rules out pthread_tryjoin).
I know that the information can be gleaned from the /proc filesystem, but this would be horrendously slow and inefficient.
Thanks,Robert.

Hi There, I'm trying to port some network communications code from linux to qnxneutrino. The origional code uses xdr_sizeof to figure out therepresentation size of a structure. That call appears to be missingunder qnx. True? Any ideas if it's implemented somewhere else, or ifI have to come up with something like it for qnx.

Last time I tried QNX was one of the floppy installs 3 years ago so Ifigured I would go and try out the ISO. So I tried it out and loaded up myLinux partition and used gnu parted to shrink my windows partition on themachine to leave about 1 gig to try out QNX. The install went verysmoothly and I barely noticed it was done because it went right to photon. Anyway, a have a few questions somebody could possibly answer.
There are a few things I would like to do which I am not sure how it isdone in .... read more

We have a minimal QNX implementation on a flash card as provided by ourhardware vendor for inclusion in an embedded system. The ftp accounts arepassword protected. I can log into the console as root with no password butwhen I attempt to ftp into the controller as root over ethernet I am askedfor a password. I tried all the obvious passwords like root, password, QNX,etc., but nothing works. The user account 'ftp' has no password and ftpddoes let me log in with that account but then it imm.... read more
